Seeking information about Solinka

I am interested in learning more about my family in Solinka, a village in
Southeastern Poland, on the Slovak border, that was in Austria-Hungary before
WW I. I know quite a bit already - a cousin in Czechoslovakia found references
to the family in Solinka a registry in the Sanok archives from about 1931.
One small branch is represented by pages of testimony in Yad Vashem. My
great-grandfather was listed in the Polish Business Directory for 1929, and
his death was noted in 1938.

This was a lot more than I ever expected to find, and I'm looking for advice
on where else I might look, either within JewishGen databases, or elsewhere.
I'm particularly interested in where I might find earlier records. I'd also
be interested in finding general information about the the village - such as
what the Jewish population was at various times, and the population as a
whole, and what businesses there might have been.

Vicki ...i began with the the communities database...which has 6500
towns with Jewish inhabitants and institutions around 1900..Solinka
isnt there, but Solinka is in the gazetteer, which has millions of
eastern european towns. There i found Solinka ..important to note the
coordinates 4910/2214...and the nearest towns listed under the target
icon are Cisna, about 6 miles NE and Wola Michowa about 6 miles NW.
Both these towns were in the galician district of Lisko and are now in
southern poland.

when i searched the Gesher Galicia town locator (at
https://www.geshergalicia.org/galician-town-locator/) for solinka, it
said the administrative district was Lisko, but the Jewish District
was Wola Michowa...the Jewish District is where you should look for
records.

i would look in the following databases..for both wola michowa and
solinko....(this is important!)

1. Jewish Records Indexing - Poland:
(https://jri-poland.org/jriplweb.htm) More than 5.3 million Jewish
birth, marriage and death records from over 550 Polish towns, as well
as indices from other sources, such as census records, legal notices,
passports and newspaper announcements. When you search here, you might
try searching for the town, using the soundex, and also for your
surnames, using a circle around 15 miles from 4910/2214...that will
query records within the area of Solinka. Or, in JRIP, search records
in the LWOW district of galicia.

2. The JewishGen Poland Database: More than 7.7 million records for
Poland, from a variety of sources, including: vital records, business
directories, voter lists, passenger manifests, Yizkor books and other
Holocaust sources. A joint project of Jewish Records Indexing -
Poland and JewishGen. https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/#Poland
this includes the 1891 galician business directory.

3. Gesher Galicia: https://search.geshergalicia.org/

i would try google for both towns. I would try the 1900 census for
galicia (the Gemeindelexikon has no surnames but it does contain the
numbers of Jews and lists institutions in all the towns). It is online
but requires many steps...an explanation is here:

I would try searching books of Jewish life in galicia...Irving Howe,
World of our Fathers comes to mind...and i'know there are many others.
