I recently found a cousin in Romania and when I visited her she told us her life
story. She's a Holocaust survivor. We have written down what she said, translated
it to English, and added some references which back up what she said. We would
like to deposit her statement in appropriate places. I should know where to send
it but I don't. Can someone suggest a place or places?

Thanks.

John Hoenig wants to know where he might deposit a transcription
of the life story of a Romanian holocaust survivor. The YIVO
Institute for Jewish Research holds the largest collection of
Holocaust primary documentation in North America and might
be interested in this document. Information on donating
material can be found at https://yivo.org/donate-materials .

Dear John,

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum collects written
testimonies for our archives, where they are cataloged and made
accessible to researchers and other genealogists.

You can email our curators at ***@ushmm.org or contact me directly
for more information.

Best,
Megan Lewis

John, I would suggest that you contact either the United States Holocaust
Museum in Washington, D.C. or the Shoah Foundation at the University fo
Southern California (founded by Steven Spielberg) which specializes in
Holocaust Testimonies and does wonderful work.

Good luck!
