Hi,

I would like to thank the people who helped me with my question about
Briceni, but I have two more...

First, can anyone get me an address or e-mail address to the City Hall in
Briceni, Roumania?
and...does anyone know if there was a town near Kiev that goes by the name
or sounds like Breechum? Of the information from my great-Bubbie, this is
the name of the place her father grew up, but once again, there was a
faulty memory when she was still alive!

Thank you,

I gather that Briceni is now in Moldova - see

The big Jewish town sort of near Kiev is Berdichev, which could sound like
your Breechum, to an English speaker. However, I don't think there are any
records on-line or indexed or available at common sources (although I would
be happy to be wrong about this).

And not being Roumanian, I would find somebody who could write 'City Hall,
Briceni' in Roumanian, although you might get by in English. Any postman
can find City Hall in his city.
